18 years ago, a little basement haunt on Shortland Street opened up and started somewhat of a movement in electronic music in Auckland. For years its red walls pounded out gritty house, electro and breakbeat music from some of the finest local and international talents of the genres of the time.
Every year at Impala we hold a reunion for this special era of music – and in 2021 for the first time we have invited over one of the seminal names that defined that sound back then – The Aston Shuffle.
We’re delighted to have such an act grace the decks down there once again this July, along with many of the rest of the DJs that made it happen – including Angela Fisken, Sam Hill, Daniel Farley, Mark Emerson, DJ Loki, and Kevin Palmer.
